Hasalyn Modine leads marketing and brand at Greenback Expat Tax Services and owns the editorial standards its content is held to: which sources count, how a figure gets verified, and how plainly a guide has to read before it publishes.

She began her career in broadcast journalism. Over more than twenty years, she has built content programs for Cedars-Sinai, where she launched the medical center’s first YouTube channel, for Bulletproof, and for Boundless Immigration, where she built the frameworks that the company used to explain immigration law to the people filing it. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and Fast Company.

Healthcare and immigration law were her first two regulated subjects; expat tax is the third. At Greenback, she sets how a threshold, a deadline, or a penalty figure gets sourced and checked before it reaches a reader. She writes on expat tax topics herself and holds an MFA in digital media and a BA in English literature.
